I thought I'd
tell everyone
that my intent
initially
several years
ago was to put
out a
monthly
newletter, but
in reality I
don't always
have enough to
write about to
make it
worth your time
or our postage
to send. It
seems, from
looking at past
newsletters,
about 4 times a
year I have
things I need to
let you know
about. (which
corresponds to
our seasons!)
If we have a
need otherwise,
a letter will go
out to you. I
will keep you
informed! I've
heard a lot of
positive
feedback
regarding the
newsletter. We
appreciate
that you enjoy
getting it! It
just probably
won't be every
month.
A DATE TO
REMEMBER.....
October 15th is
the date you
need to mark on
your calendars
if you have any
unwanted
appliances,
scrap metal,
bikes, mowers,
etc. you'd like
to dispose of.
On this day
we'll come
around and
gather, free of
charge, anything
along those
lines you need
to get rid of.
Just call my
office and get
on the list for
pick up day.
IMPORTANT:
If you aren't on
the list, your
items will not
be picked up.
We have to know
ahead of time if
you have
something.
You'll need to
have your items
placed where
your garbage is
normally picked
up by 6 a.m. on
the 15th. Most
importantly, all
compressors must
be removed from
appliances such
as freezers,
fridges or air
conditioners.
The compressor
can be sitting
inside the unit,
but NOT
attached, or the
guys can't pick
up your
appliance. Call
me at 856-4624
to get on the
list!
IN CASE YOU
DIDN'T KNOW...
Water
restriction is
now over for
this year.
Thank you to
everyone who
watered on your
day! Greatfully,
it was a pretty
wet summer, and
lawns didn't
need a lot of
extra watering,
Same luck next
year?
NEW POOL, HOW
ABOUT A SWIM
TEAM?
The new
swimming pool is
long enough and
wide enough to
accommodate 4
swim lanes.
There is a swim
league based out
of Lexington
that would love
to have us
join! There are
several large
and small area
towns, including
Arapahoe, that
belong to this
league. Jan
Gunderson
approached the
Board about
starting a swim
team
in EC. Now all
she needs to
know is, who
wants to be a
part of this
great
activity?!
Anyone
interested in
joining the new
Elm Creek Swim
Team needs to
contact Jan at
856-4446 for
further
information.
Guess
what...even us
older folks can
participate, as
there is no
maximum age
limit!
GOT DOGS?
Sometimes I feel
like a broken
record, but this
is always the
biggest
complaint in
town....dogs.
Either their
barking, doing
their business
where their not
supposed to,
they're running
loose, not
licensed, or
they're
dangerous. We
have numerous
animal
ordinances, too
many to publish
in the
newsletter. But
they're
available in my
office for
anyone to read.
Simply put:
Keep them
leashed, pick up
their poo, calm
them so they
don't bark
continously;
just because you
tune out your
dog, your
neighbor can't,
and please get
them licensed
once a year at
my office.
We're not sure
why you'd want
an aggressive
dog, but if you
do have one, get
in contact with
me because there
are strict State
Statutes you
need to follow
regarding
enclosures for a
dangerous
dog.
Two Wonderful
Souls
A huge thank you
to Opal Brodine
for contributing
memorial money
from Ivan's
passing to the
Village to help
construct the
handicapped
accessible
intersections at
Church Street
and Calkins
Avenue. They
will help make
it easier for
all citizens to
get around in
that area of
town. Thank you
Mrs. Brodine!!
A big thank you
from the EC
Rescue Squad
goes out to
Gypsy Quinn.
She made a very
generous
donation in
memory of her
husband Bill.
The memorial
will be used to
purchase an
automated blood
pressure unit
for the
ambulance.
Thank you so
much Mrs.
Quinn!!
OUT OF
ROOM...UNTIL
NEXT TIME, ENJOY
THE BEAUTIFUL
FALL WEATHER!
